  1. Hi Brad!😅 ..Been working on my French Grip – And – left/weaker hand. I tried snapping the last note/the & of 4 e &… and it feels kinda’ good to strengthen left hand plus French grip. Do you think thats an Ok idea for me to do? It feels ok so far, and seems to help w/weak side…

    1. That should be fine if that works for you. Accents are great for strength and control. Practice 2 ways though. By practicing that last accent you’re getting more control and strength. Practicing all the same volume is also good because you want to teach your hand to bounce the stick, assisted by the fingers. But I can see how practicing accented as well should help you gain more strength and control just like it does when you practice accents with German or French grip.

  2. … Thanks for the reply; I can say that I’ve already noticed some improvement in my left hand matched grip from this particularly new discovery/exercise Find, … & I kinda came up with it from you’re ‘Accent to strengthen weak hand’ exercises and drills! (Plus that Joe Morello short clip I saw by him years ago, where he ‘snaps’ (accents) his traditional grip: 1 e & a 2 (snap/accent on the 2/2nd beat first stick hit) with the index finger/or 1st two fingers/traditional grip)
