  1. Right now/12/14/24, this is just about my favorite exercise to practice!! I work on both matched & traditional grip with it. I am able to keep up with Brad to about the 3rd example at a faster tempo, but not the fastest… which I’m hoping to eventually achieve. I believe up to the 80 bpm on the quarter note. Is Very Cool Exercise!…

  2. Actually let me revise my recent post. (Vince here)… I’m finding that I can pretty much keep up with Brad thru the entire exercise at fastest speed in the drill, BUT, only with my traditional grip! My weaker left hand during matched grip does not allow me to keep up at the fastest speed smoothly and accurately! I continually am trying to improve my left hand (matched grip), but struggle with that.

    1. I get a lots of questions about fixing the weak hand. This week I’m going to do a video about it. So watch for that.😀 It is interesting that you find some things easier to play with traditional grips. I find that’s true as well for me. This is why I’m a fan of developing both traditional and matched grip.

  3. … Just to make sure it be known that I am excited to be able to play along somewhat too Brad Allen’s exercise pace, and that I need much more practice to develop my hands & dbl stroke roll, and that I recognize his ability to of course play this lesson much faster than 80 bpm to the 1/4 note. – I thoroughly enjoy these lessons/exercises, and hope to improve by following them! Thank you Brad!
